The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Friday for the 17th time in 18 days, dropping 1 cent to $4.489.
The average price has decreased 17.1 cents over the past 18 days, including 1.4 cents Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped five consecutive days, was unchanged March 2 and resumed dropping the next day.
The average price is 7.8 cents less than one week ago, 15.8 cents lower than one month and 31.6 cents below one year ago. It has dropped $1.884 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose four-tenths of a cent to $3.083, a day after dropping one-tenth of a cent. It is 2.3 cents less than one week ago, 8.5 cents lower than a month ago and 32.9 cents below one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.933 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
