A man was shot and killed in East Los Angeles, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported Friday.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the 500 block of Bradshawe Avenue, near the border with Montebello, at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday regarding a shooting, authorities said. When they arrived at the scene, deputies found the victim lying in a driveway, NBC 4 reported.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to sheriff’s homicide Lt. Omar Camacho.
The shooting occurred during the graduation of nearby Eastmont Intermediate School in Montebello.
Mike Rodriguez, who lives in the neighborhood, said he heard gunshots and initially thought they were fireworks,
“The bad thing is the kids were getting out of school at the time, so it got kind of hectic around here,” Rodriguez told NBC 4.
There was no suspect description.
The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
