A Silver Alert was activated on behalf of an at-risk 88-year-old man last seen Tuesday in Encino.
Gerhard Zimmerman was last seen around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, near Encino Avenue and Ventura Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Zimmerman was described as a 5-foot-11-inch-tall man weighing 170 pounds with a bald head and hazel eyes. Authorities believe he is traveling in a gray 2011 Kia Soul, with California license plate 6ZER823.
Anyone with information regarding Zimmerman’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
