A stretch of El Segundo Boulevard was closed in Hawthorne Saturday as police worked to apprehend a barricaded suspect.
The Hawthorne Police Department requested a Sigalert at 6:20 a.m. closing El Segundo Boulevard between Prairie Avenue and Hawthorne Boulevard due to the situation, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Sigalert was canceled at 8:12 a.m., the CHP said.
A watch commander with the Hawthorne Police Department could not be reached for immediate comment on the exact location and nature of the barricaded suspect.
No further information was immediately available.
