Los Angeles International Airport was experiencing a large number of flight delays Sunday.
According to the tracking website FlightAware, there were 261 delays and 18 cancellations at LAX on Sunday.
Other Southland airports were seeing delays as well. Hollywood/Burbank Airport had 13 delays and one cancellation as of noon Sunday, while John Wayne Airport in Orange County had 23 delays and one cancellation, and Long Beach Airport had seven delays and no cancellations.
The reason for the delays was not clear, but the United States imposed temporary restrictions on the airspace over the Caribbean on Saturday due to the U.S. military operation in Venezuela. Those restrictions ended as of Sunday.
