The Coachella Valley Repertory was scheduled to host a free full-length staged reading of the play, “The Beauty Bubble” by Joyce Callo.
The play is one of four plays selected to receive a full-length staged reading as part of CVRep’s ORIGINS: New Works Development Program, which received more than 700 submissions.
Callo’s play is scheduled to receive the staged reading on March 31 at 2 p.m. at the CVRep theatre located at 68510 E. Palm Canyon Drive in Cathedral City. Admission is free, but reservations are required and available at www.CVRep.org.
Callo is a New York Emmy-Award winner and a writer and director for film, television and stage. As part of the reading, Callo will be available for a post-performance Q&A session along with the cast members.
The other three plays selected to receive a staged reading were “A Christmas Coven” by Kate Mickere, “Killer” by Steve Apostolina and “The Agency” by Lia Romeo. One of the four will be chosen for a full production in the theater’s upcoming season.
