A 19-year-old man suspected of killing a 63-year-old man was taken into custody in Moreno Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Luis Rosas of Moreno Valley was located on Monday in the 25000 block of Dracaea Avenue, near Perris Boulevard and the Hometown Square Shopping Center, following the execution of a search warrant by Special Enforcement Bureau and Major Crime Unit deputies, authorities said.
He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
Deputies were dispatched shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 near Nuevo Road and Foothill Avenue to reports regarding a dead person.
The victim was later identified as Ronald Gargano of Perris.
A preliminary investigation determined that Gargano had sustained traumatic injuries.
The Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation based on the circumstances of the assault, sheriff’s officials said.
