The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Tuesday for the 21st time in 22 days, decreasing 3 cents to $5.881, its lowest amount since March 22.
The average price has fallen 33.4 cents over the past 22 days, including a half-cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent May 25 and resumed decreasing May 26.
The average price is 16.8 cents less than one week ago and 35.1 cents lower than one month ago, but $1.187 more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 26th time in 27 days, falling 2.7 cents to $5.757, its lowest amount since March 20. It has dropped 43.5 cents over the past 27 days, including nine-tenths of a cent Monday.
The Orange County average price dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18. It is 19.9 cents less than one week ago and 43.4 cents lower than one month ago but $1.153 more than one year ago.
The national average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $4.161, its lowest amount since April 27. It has dropped 19 consecutive days, decreasing 40.3 cents, including 1 cent Monday.
The national average price is 12.9 cents less than one week ago and 36.9 cents lower than one month ago, but $1.037 more than one year ago.
