A fire damaged a 50-foot-by-100-foot commercial building in South Los Angeles Wednesday, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters sent to the 2500 block of Main Street, near 25th Street, about 4:30 a.m. found that the building was fully involved with fire on all sides, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The roof of the building partially collapsed, but no firefighters were inside, Prange said.

More than 100 firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and a knockdown was declared about 6 a.m., Prange said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
