The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the 56th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.111, its lowest amount since Nov. 9, 2010.

The average price has decreased 60.4 cents during the streak, the longest since a 57-day run of falling prices from May 17-July 12, 2012, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 5.6 cents less than one week ago, 31.9 cents lower than one month ago and 48.4 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped six-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $3.067, its lowest amount since Oct. 9, 2010. It has decreased 24 consecutive days and 54 of the past 55, dropping 61.6 cents over that span, including six- tenths of a cent on Tuesday.
