The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Sunday for the 38th. consecutive day following a 34-day streak of increases, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.147.
The average price has dropped 39 cents over the past 38 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose $1.078 during the streak of increases.
The average price is 5.7 cents less than one week ago, 33.6 cents lower than one month ago and $1.093 below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price also dropped for the 38th. consecutive day, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.105. It is 5.5 cents less than one week ago, 35.7 cents lower than one month ago and $1.123 below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped 41.7 cents over the past 38 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Saturday. It rose $1.09 during a 33- day streak of increases that ended one day before the current streak of declines began.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest in Orange County since a 47-day streak from Sept. 18-Nov. 3, 2013.
