The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday to its lowest amount since Feb. 20, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $2.973.

The average price has dropped 47 of the past 49 days, decreasing 57.9 cents, including six-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The only times the average price failed to drop over the past 49 days were Oct. 8, when it rose one-tenth of a cent, and Oct. 11, when it remained unchanged.

The average price is 4.5 cents less than a week ago, 23.8 cents lower than one month ago and 54.3 cents below what it was a year ago

The Orange County average price dropped Wednesday to its lowest amount since Feb. 19, decreasing 1 cent to $2.922.

The Orange County average price has dropped 46 of the past 48 days, decreasing 57.1 cents, including six-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The only times the Orange County average price did not drop over the past 46 days were Oct. 8, when it rose 1.1 cents, and Oct. 9, when it was unchanged.

The Orange County average price is 5 cents less than one week ago, 21.6 cents lower than one month ago and 57.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
