Viva Aerobus, a low-cost airline, is now operating out of Los Angeles International Airport, offering daily service to Guadalajara.

Prices start at $109.

“The daily flight of Viva Aerobus, due to its low rates, will allow many more families to travel more easily and thus increase Mexican tourism in this western area of the United States,” said Carlos Garcia de Alba Zepeda, consul general of Mexico in Los Angeles.

Viva Aerobus expects to transport more than 100,000 passengers on the route during the first year of operations, and the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board predicts the tourists who will visit Los Angeles from Guadalajara will contribute $18 million to the local economy.

“With this new route, Guadalajara and Los Angeles will be closer than ever thanks to our unbeatable prices. Our arrival represents a round benefit for travelers and for these two prominent cities, as their tourism, cultural and commercial value will be linked, strengthened and available to many more people,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, general director of Viva Aerobus.
