The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 25th consecutive day, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.683.

The average price has dropped 19.4 cents over the past 25 days, including 1.5 cents on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 7 cents less than one week ago and 19.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 40.8 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 53.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 24rd consecutive day, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.625. It has decreased 19.8 cents over the past 23 days, including 1.4 cents on Friday.

The Orange County average price is 7.4 cents less than one week ago and 20.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 38.8 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 50.9 cents since the start of the year.

“The price drops are happening nationwide as well as in California because oil prices have dropped dramatically,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager. “There is a wide range of prices right now locally because some gas station chains are lowering prices more aggressively than others.”
