A big rig crashed into the center divider and overturned on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Commerce Tuesday morning and the driver of the semi was freed from the wreckage.
The truck crashed north of Garfield Avenue about 5:15 a.m. and the cab ended up on its roof and the trailer on its side, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the big rig was briefly trapped before being freed from the cab, the CHP said. It was unclear if anyone was hurt.
It was unknown what the trailer was carrying.
A SigAlert was issued for the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the northbound Golden State Freeway.
