An Inglewood entrepreneur is offering lessons in cryptocurrency for the underserved community at a sleek lounge near the soon-to-open SoFi Stadium.

Najah Roberts founded Crypto Blockchain Plug in early 2019 to ensure that cryptocurrency and bitcoin education was accessible for the urban community. She says it has since tripled in size.

The facility at 614 E. Manchester Ave. hosts classes, lectures, events, and offers a trading floor for both laypersons and experts. It is open once again after a temporary closure during the coronavirus pandemic.

Company officials say CBP is the first African American, female-owned cryptocurrency lounge in the country, and one of only three brick-and-mortar cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States.

Courses include Crypto 101-303; Wine, Women & Crypto; Crypto Trivia Night Game Show; Moms of Blockchain; Coin-O-Nomics; Bitcoin Business Basics and Trading for Dummies.

Roberts — who also created “Crypto Kids Camp” sponsored by Pepperdine University — attended Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida and has a master’s degree in business administration. She started CBP with business partner Jaci Marie.

“Most cryptocurrencies solve a problem and for our community, it is crucial to begin to address some of the issues that plague us as it relates to finances,” Roberts told the Los Angeles Sentinel in 2019.
