Authorities Wednesday announced the revocation of the alcoholic beverage license for Nena’s Cantina in Artesia for alleged “illegal drink solicitations.”
The license revocation was posted Friday at the business at 11746-48 E. 166th St., said Brad Beach of the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, who said undercover agents visited the location numerous times.
“Illegal drink solicitation schemes involve bar servers who place a surcharge on alcoholic beverages in exchange for keeping patrons company,” Beach said in a statement. “Such practices can contribute to the over-service of alcohol which can result in increased DUIs, public drunkenness and other violations of law.”
Nena’s Cantina’s alcoholic beverage license was suspended for 60 days in 2016 for illegal solicitation of alcohol and two other violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, according to the ABC, which is part of the Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency.
