Fire in the walls of a restaurant on the first floor of a two-story strip mall in Pacific Palisades Thursday evening spread to businesses on the second floor and burned for 41 minutes before being extinguished by firefighters.

Crews responded at 10:28 p.m. to 1515 Palisades Drive, near Palisades Circle, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A total of 35 firefighters worked to extinguish the stubborn blaze and a knock down was called at 11:09 p.m., Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
