Several small brush fires forced some closures along Interstate 15 in Norco Sunday.

The fires were reported at around 10:30 a.m. near the freeway’s southbound shoulder south of Sixth Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The three spot fires prompted the California Highway Patrol to temporarily close the southbound I-15 Sixth Street on-ramp and off-ramp, as well as the freeway’s No. 3 lane.

Just before 11:40 a.m., fire officials said the forward progress of the fires had been stopped.
