Two people were injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash at an Eastvale intersection, where one of the motorists had to be extricated from the wreckage.

The collision was reported just after 1 p.m. at Hamner Avenue and Micro Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that two cars impacted at the location, crumpling the driver’s side of a four-door sedan.

The circumstances behind the crash were not immediately known.

Firefighters deployed industrial gear to pry open the car and remove the driver, who suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, officials said.

The occupant of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital.

Sheriff’s deputies partially closed the intersection because of the wreck, which was under investigation.
