A crash involving two big rigs resulted in a fuel spill and a fire early Saturday morning on Interstate 10 near Chiriaco Summit.

The crash was reported at 4 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway at Cottonwood Springs Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire officials said one of the trucks ended up on its side, but no one was injured.

A fire ignited after the crash and was contained at about 4:45 a.m., and a hazmat crew was cleaning up about 150 gallons of diesel that leaked out from both big rigs, fire officials said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the number one lane was temporarily closed for the cleanup.
