Firefighters used the jaws of life to cut out a person from the wreckage of a crash between a sedan and big rig south of Corona Saturday.

The collision was reported at 1:54 a.m. in the 23000 block of Temescal Canyon Road in the Temescal Valley area, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The driver of the sedan was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries after being extricated while the driver of the big rig was uninjured, fire officials said.

Details about what led to the crash were not immediately available.
