A person was airlifted to a hospital Sunday after a vehicle went over the edge of a road and rolled down an embankment in Temecula.

The crash occurred at around 11 a.m. at Butterfield Stage and Murrieta Hot Springs roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire officials said the vehicle rolled about 50 feet before it came to a stop. A person with moderate to serious injuries was flown to a hospital in an air ambulance.

Details about what led to the crash were not immediately available.
