Firefighters Thursday quickly contained a non-injury residential garage fire in Indio.
Crews responded around 1:20 p.m. Thursday to a report of a residential structure fire in the 80500 block of Ullswater Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Heavy smoke and fire was emitting from the garage of a single-story residence, but the flames were extinguished by 2 p.m. fire officials said.
The Department of Environmental Health and hazmat crews were requested to the scene but subsequently “canceled due to the chemicals at scene being identified as ordinary household chemicals,” according to a department statement.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
There was no injuries reported.
