A single-engine airplane crashed Thursday just west of Corona Municipal Airport, but it wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was injured.
The crash was reported about 4:15 p.m. within Prado Dam, north of the intersection of Auto Center Drive and Railroad Street, according to the Corona Fire Department.
There wasn’t any immediate word on how many people were aboard the plane and whether anyone was hurt.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were also at the scene.
It was unclear if the plane had departed the airport, or may have been in the traffic pattern, trying to land.
A Federal Aviation Administration representative told City News Service the agency was awaiting further details from public safety officials at the scene as of 5 p.m.
