The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped three-tenths of a cent Monday to $6.072 to extend the run of decreases to 13 in 14 days.
The average price has fallen 14.2 cents over the past 14 days, including a half-cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent last Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.
The average price is 9.4 cents less than one week ago and 6.9 cents lower than one month ago, but $1.321 more than one year ago. It has increased $1.378 since the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran began Feb. 28, moving within 42.2 cents of the record $6.494 set on Oct. 5, 2022.
A decrease of one-tenth of a cent to $5.983 extended the run of dropping prices in Orange County to 18 in 19 days. It has dropped 20.9 cents over the past 19 days, including 1.1 cents Sunday.
The Orange County average price dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18. It is 12.7 cents less than one week ago and 13.3 cents lower than one month ago but $1.323 more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has increased $1.347 since the attack on Iran, moving within 47.6 cents of the record $6.459 set on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 11th consecutive day, falling 1.4 cents to $4.322. It has dropped 24.2 cents over the past 11 days, including 2 cents Sunday. It is 18.5 cents less than one week ago and 7 cents lower than one month ago but $1.178 more than one year ago.
The national average price has risen $1.34 since the attack on Iran, moving within 69.4 cents of the record $5.016 set on June 14, 2022.
