A brush fire that slowly burned approximately a half-acre of vegetation in Brentwood was extinguished Friday evening with no reports of injuries.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 4000 block of Mandeville Canyon Road between Sky Valley Road and Sherry Lane around 8:40 p.m. where they surrounded the fire with hose lines in steep terrain and helicopters made water drops on the head of the fire, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
It took 36 firefighters 61 minutes to extinguish the flames
It’s unclear what may have sparked the flames.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
