Fire erupted at a three-story apartment building in Marina del Rey Thursday, sending flames and smoke through the roof of the structure, and there were reports of at least one person being injured.

Los Angeles County fire crews responded at 2:48 p.m. to the Mariner’s Village apartment complex in the 4600 block of Via Marina.

The fire quickly went to a second alarm, with Los Angeles city fire crews joining their county counterparts on the scene.

According to reports from the scene, one person was taken to a hospital with burn injuries, but fire officials did not immediately confirm the report.

It was unclear what sparked the fire.
