One person sustained a minor injury Wednesday after a semi-truck and a vehicle collided on Interstate 10, prompting road closures and major backup on the freeway.

The incident was reported at 5:07 a.m. Wednesday on the westbound freeway near Jefferson Street and the Indio Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash caused one of the vehicles to leak oil, which prompted the closure of all lanes from Monroe Street to Jefferson Street for about two hours, CHP public information officer David Torres told City News Service.

Torres said one person who experienced pain in their right arm was taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

No alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, according to Torres.
