A woman was killed Saturday evening when an SUV overturned on a ramp leading onto to the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 6:02 p.m. Saturday on the Penrose Street on-ramp to the southbound Golden State Freeway.
The witness reported that the overturned vehicle was on fire and that someone was trying to get out of it, according to the CHP’s online log.
CHP Officer Sean Lough confirmed to City News Service that the person killed in the crash was a woman.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 6:24 p.m. shutting down the Penrose Street on-ramp for its investigation.
