A free community clean-up event will be held Saturday for residents in the unincorporated community of Bermuda Dunes looking to shred papers and dispose of bulky waste items.
Residents can drop off furniture, appliances, up to nine tires, bundled tree limbs and branches, electronic waste and other items between 8 a.m. and noon Saturday at the Bermuda Dunes Airport, 79-880 Avenue 42, according to Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez.
“These clean-ups help the community. They provide a service to residents who want to dispose of items that have accumulated over the past few months,” Perez said in a statement. “These events also help keep our communities clean and, as a free resource, they provide an alternative to illegal dumping.”
Residents can also take up to five boxes of documents for shredding.
Hazardous materials such as batteries, pool chemicals, fertilizers, gasoline, paint, engines and motor oil will not be accepted at the event, but up to 15 gallons can instead be dropped off at the Waste Resources Department’s permanent collection site in Palm Springs at 1100 Vella Road.
