A man and a woman were killed Saturday in a crash in the Commerce area.
The crash occurred a little before 7 a.m. at the Slauson Avenue off-ramp to the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident involved a tan sedan that was stopped on the right shoulder at the off-ramp, the CHP said. The agency ordered two tow trucks to pick up vehicles that could be used as evidence, indicating more than one vehicle was involved.
Both the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at 7:44 a.m. but did not transport anyone to a hospital, a county fire department dispatcher said.
A Sigalert, issued at 8:08 a.m. closing the Slauson Avenue on-ramp to the southbound freeway, was canceled at 12:34 p.m., the CHP said.
Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
