A pedestrian who died trying to run across lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles was positively identified Sunday.
Arturo Hernandez Renteria was 45 years old, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. He died from blunt traumatic injuries in an accident.
The death was reported at 8:33 p.m. Saturday on the northbound 110 north of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles resident reportedly ran from the right shoulder toward the center divider in an attempt to cross lanes when he was struck by a northbound 2015 Mercedes-Benz vehicle driven by a 30-year-old Moreno Valley woman who stopped at the scene, the CHP stated.
The CHP issued a SigAlert, shutting down all northbound lanes south of Adams and diverting traffic into the toll lanes during its investigation.
