Firefighters knocked down a house fire in Indio Wednesday that displaced three people.
The fire was reported at approximately 5:14 p.m. in the 79000 block of Bethpage Avenue, near Miles Avenue, where the first arriving chief officer observed a palm tree engulfed in flames that extended to an adjacent house, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Fire officials confirmed the fire had spread into the attic, prompting a request for additional engine crews.
Three people were displaced by the fire, and American Red Cross personnel were requested to come to the house to assist the residents.
