A vacant three-story apartment building fire with heavy flames in Koreatown was knocked down in 34 minutes Wednesday, with no reported injuries.
Firefighters responded at approximately 5:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 100 block of South New Hampshire Avenue, one block west of Vermont Avenue, to battle a fire from a unit on the third floor, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire was knocked down by 80 firefighters, with Los Angeles Department of Water and Power personnel arriving at the scene as requested for utilities, fire officials said.
Several crews remained at the scene to ensure all hot spots were doused and to conduct a clean-up operation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
