Center Theatre Group announced Monday it has added 10 new members to its board of directors, including actors, business leaders and entertainment executives.

With the additions, the nonprofit theater company’s board has grown to 56 members, according to the organization.

“As the largest theatre company in one of the most diverse cities in this country, we are always seeking to expand our reach and profile — and each one of these ten new board members will help us do just that,” Managing Director and CEO Meghan Pressman said in a statement.

Board President Amy R. Forbes said the new members bring a shared commitment to theater and its role in the community.

“We honor our rich legacy and look boldly to the future by welcoming these new members of the board who fundamentally believe that the art of theatre is a cultural force with the capacity to transform the lives of individuals and society at large,” Forbes said.

The new members are:

— Stephen Cheung, president and CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation;

— Nancy Dennis, a retired family law attorney;

— Sutton Foster, a Tony Award-winning stage and television actress;

— Jennifer Lewis, general counsel for the Clippers and related venues;

— Karla Pita Loor, chief strategy officer of Hyphenate Media Group;

— Rick Miramontez, president of public relations agency DKC/O&M;

— Jeanne Newman, an entertainment attorney;

— Tom Safran, a housing developer;

— Gina Torres, a television and film actress; and

— Rob Wade, CEO of FOX Entertainment.

Center Theatre Group operates the Mark Taper Forum and Ahmanson Theatre at the Music Center and the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City.
