A coalition of progressive groups will host a concert fundraiser Tuesday evening in Los Angeles aimed at mobilizing voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
The event is being organized by Blue Wave California in partnership with Women’s March Action, Swing Left, People for the American Way and California Environmental Voters.
The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the El Rey Theatre in the Mid-Wilshire area and will feature performances by Rufus Wainwright, Lisa Loeb, Iman Jordan, Richard T. Bear and guitarist Laurence Juber.
The event will also include appearances by Jean Smart, Andy Richter, Allison Gill, Dana Goldberg and John Fugelsang, organizers said.
“This event is about bringing people together across organizations, communities, and movements, to build the momentum we’ll need to win in 2026,” Steve Pierson, executive director of Blue Wave California, said in an earlier statement. “California is positioned to play a decisive role in determining control of the House, and building momentum at this stage is critical.”
Organizers said the event will raise funds for Blue Wave California’s Victory Fund, which supports organizing, voter outreach and campaign efforts in targeted congressional districts.
“Music has always been a way to bring people together and right now, that matters more than ever,” Wainwright said.
Organizers said California could play a decisive role in determining control of the House of Representatives in the upcoming election cycle and that early engagement is key to building momentum.
“I’ve always believed that showing up matters, and this is a great way to do it,” Richter said. “California Rising is going to be a fantastic night, and it supports work that actually makes a difference.”
