A four-vehicle collision on Highway 371 in Aguanga Wednesday prompted a temporary closure of the corridor, but no one involved required medical attention.

The crash was reported at 5:08 p.m. where Route 371 intersects Jojoba Road, entering the San Bernardino National Forest, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that a Hyundai compact SUV, a Toyota Camry and two other sedans collided at the location, but no other details were immediately available.

All traffic came to a halt on Route 371 afterward.

CHP officers shut down both the north- and southbound sides of the highway for public safety.

Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the area a short time later and assessed all of the motorists. Two were initially reported injured, but paramedics ultimately determined no one required treatment, according to reports from the scene.

Officers moved all of the vehicles to the shoulder of the highway by 5:35 p.m., at which time it was reopened.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

  1. Does anyone know if the temporary closure on Route 371 yesterday near Jojoba Road was caused by distracted driving or poor road conditions? I am doing some research for an educational project on local traffic safety management, and I came across some data analysis guidelines on https://betongamebdguide.com that mention specific verification and compliance standards. I am trying to figure out how local transport authorities in Riverside County typically document and audit accident causes for public transparency.
