A brushfire charred three acres of vegetation in about an hour in Thermal Saturday.
The fire was reported burning at a moderate rate in medium fuels at 7:36 p.m. Saturday in the 88000 block of Avenue 69, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Two acres had burned when firefighters arrived and they only allowed for one more acre to be consumed before stopping forward progress at 8:38 p.m., fire officials said.
No injuries were reported and firefighters expected to remain on scene for awhile to make sure all hot spots were out, officials said.
