StubHub announced Monday it will launch a California program providing free tickets to concerts, theater productions and major sporting events — including World Cup matches at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood — for youth groups from underserved communities.
The initiative, called “StubHub Access:California,” will commit $100,000 in tickets for organized youth teams, clubs and community groups across the state, according to the company.
Organizers said select groups will also receive tickets to 2026 World Cup matches scheduled at SoFi Stadium and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
“Seeing a live event — be it a concert, sports game, theater or something else — can be a life-changing experience for a young person,” Ellie Casson, StubHub’s senior manager for city and community affairs, said in a statement. “Our mission at StubHub is to help fans see the events they love, and we are honored that we can help remove barriers and increase access for kids in California through StubHub Access:CA.”
The program will allow coaches, teachers, parents and community leaders to nominate youth organizations for free group tickets to professional sporting events, concerts and theater performances in their region.
According to StubHub, nominations will be evaluated based on factors including geographic diversity, community need and representation across sports, activities and age groups.
The company said it plans to announce recipients in phases beginning later this spring and continuing through the summer.
Los Angeles County is preparing to host several major international sporting events in the coming years, including World Cup matches at SoFi Stadium this summer, Super Bowl LXI in 2027 and the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.
