The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the 22st time in 23 days, decreasing 3 cents to $5.851, its lowest amount since March 21.
The average price has fallen 36.4 cents over the past 23 days, including 3 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent May 25 and resumed decreasing May 26.
The average price is 17.3 cents less than one week ago and 38 cents lower than one month ago, but $1.167 more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 27th time in 28 days, falling 2.9 cents to $5.728, its lowest amount since March 20. It has dropped 46.4 cents over the past 28 days, including 2.7 cents Tuesday.
The Orange County average price dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18. It is 19.5 cents less than one week ago and 46.1 cents lower than one month ago but $1.135 more than one year ago.
The national average price dropped for the 20th consecutive day, decreasing 1 cent to $4.151, its lowest amount since April 27. It has fallen 41.3 cents over the past 20 days, including three-tenths of a cent Tuesday.
The national average price is 11 cents less than one week ago and 37.1 cents lower than one month ago, but $1.029 more than one year ago.
