A man who served as an unpaid communications advisor to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass during her primary election campaign was now working as a consultant for the company whose massive Boyle Heights cold storage warehouse burned for over a week last month, according to a report Saturday.
Yusef Robb is working as a crisis communications consultant for Lineage Logistics, the digital local news outlet L.A. Material reported Saturday. He runs tk/Communications “to create and communicate stories,” according to the company’s website.
Robb began working for the company on June 19, two days after the building erupted in flames, according to L.A. Material.
A spokesman for Bass noted that Robb was never hired as a city employee for Bass and that he has not communicated with her on behalf of Lineage, L.A. Material reported.
Boyle Heights residents have been critical of Bass for the city’s handling of the fire and its aftermath, and during a Thursday night community meeting, she was booed.
