Three people were injured Wednesday in a three-vehicle collision at a Mead Valley intersection.
The wreck was reported at 3:27 p.m. Wednesday at Cajalco Road and Seaton Avenue, less than a half-mile west of Interstate 215, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said the vehicles impacted on the westbound side of Cajalco, but the wreckage spilled over onto both sides of the four-lane corridor.
There was no word on what might have triggered the collision.
Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location minutes later and discovered three people with minor to moderate injuries.
They were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.
Cajalco was completely shut down by CHP officers and sheriff’s deputies between Seaton and Camino Del Sol because of the crash.
The closure was expected to be lifted by 5 p.m.
The cause of the collision was under investigation.
