A $3.2 million investment to repave state Route 111 in Palm Springs will begin next month.
Construction work will take place from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at an unspecified date in September, officials said.
The project will span SR 111 from Interstate 10 to roughly a few miles west of Tramway Road and will feature pavement resurfacing with pre-coated aggregate, asphalt rubber binder and traffic stripe tape, city officials said.
The Caltrans pavement preservation project was funded through Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
City officials said motorists should expect single-lane closures, with one lane open in each direction during hours of operation, and signage posted on I-10 and SR-111.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
