The body of a woman was found lying in lanes of the Foothill (210) Freeway in Azusa Wednesday.

Someone reported the grim discovery to the California Highway Patrol at 3:31 a.m. Wednesday on the westbound freeway east of Azusa Avenue. They told the CHP the body was partially blocking the slow lane.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office identified the woman as Taylor Cornelius, 32, whose place of residence was not listed.

The CHP’s online log did not indicate that anyone saw how the pedestrian was killed or by whom.

The CHP issued a Sigalert at 3:46 a.m. shutting down the right two westbound lanes. The Sigalert was expanded at 4:15 a.m. to include all westbound lanes from Grand Avenue, although the carpool lane was open.

All lanes were reopened at about 6:20 a.m.
