A Montebello woman fatally struck by a pickup while crossing a street with her children was identified Thursday.
Nadia Lopez, 30, of Montebello was declared dead at a hospital shortly after she was struck in the 400 block of North Garfield Avenue about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday night, according to Montebello police and coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.
The three were not in a crosswalk when they were hit in the 400 block of North Garfield Avenue, police Lt. Michael Bergman said.
Lopez’s 5- and 9-year-old children suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Bergman said. The driver of the pickup was questioned at the scene but not cited or arrested, pending the outcome of an investigation.
