Two people were quickly arrested Monday following a robbery and shooting that left a person wounded, but third suspect holed up for hours before being taken into custody.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8 a.m. near the southern end of downtown Los Angeles, said LAPD Officer Drake Madison. The victim was hospitalized with a wound that was not believed to be life-threatening, Madison said.
Two suspects were arrested, but police eventually set up a perimeter in an unincorporated area near 60th Street and Hooper Avenue, where a third suspect holed up in a building.
At one point during the standoff, police fired tear gas into the residence, starting a small fire. The suspect came out and was arrested around 3 p.m.
