A Los Angeles police officer who allegedly submitted fictitious military leave documents to the department pleaded not guilty Thursday to three felony charges.
Christine Lynn Bulicz is accused of submitting false documents allowing her time off with pay from the Los Angeles Police Department to serve in the California Army National Guard.
In a statement released last month, the LAPD said the documents allowed Bulicz, a 15-year veteran, to take paid time off to which she was not entitled.
The 42-year-old officer is charged with two counts of grand theft of personal property and one count of attempted grand theft of personal property.
Bulicz was taken into custody Oct. 21 at LAPD headquarters following an investigation by the LAPD’s Special Operations Division in conjunction with the California Army National Guard Provost Marshal’s Office, according to police.
She was released on $30,000 bond and is due back in court Dec. 10, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require her to stand trial.
If convicted, she could face up to four years and four months in county jail, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
