A fire that broke out late Monday afternoon in a three-story, single-family home in Sherman Oaks caused significant damage to the top floor of the residence.
The fire at 3760 Avenida De Sol was reported about 4:20 p.m., said Shawn Lenske of the Los Angeles Fire Department. About four dozen firefighters mounted an aggressive 28-minute attack to knock down the blaze, he said.
The cause of the non-injury fire was under investigation, and a damage estimate was being tallied, Lenske said.
