Two brothers were pepper sprayed during a home invasion robbery in Rowland Heights, authorities said Saturday.

The robbery occurred at a single family house on the 17800 block of Calle Barcelona at 7:40 p.m. Friday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Steven Tousey said.

The suspects forced entry to the residence by smashing a glass sliding door at the rear of the house, Tousey said.

The brothers, who were upstairs in the residence, came down to investigate the noise and were pepper-sprayed, Tousey said.

The three suspects were wearing ski masks, Tousey told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

They escaped with around $300 in cash, along with jewelry and an iPhone, Tousey said.

The brothers, one aged 21, and the other a juvenile, were treated at the scene, Tousey said.
